Meet Our Dentist

William C. Kuttler, D.D.S.
Dr. Kuttler graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, spent two years in the United States Air Force practicing dentistry, then moved to Dubuque where he has practiced ever since.

A lifelong student, Dr. Kuttler is always seeking new information about dentistry. He received the prestigious Academy of General Dentistry Fellowship in recognition of his extensive number of hours of continuing education. He’s lectured to local, state, and national groups on clinical, behavioral, and philosophic dental topics. He also has been recognized by his peers with a fellowship in the American College of Dentistry.

Dr. Kuttler often comments how blessed he is that he became a dentist.  His profession has allowed him to help people in many ways and work closely with a team of people who share similar values and attitudes, including his wife Sharon.  

“What more could I ask of each day than to come to work with people I thoroughly enjoy and help people in significant ways?  I am truly blessed by people’s trust and confidence.”

When he’s not in the office, Dr. Kuttler enjoys playing golf, riding his bicycle, being outdoors, traveling and reading.  Perhaps his greatest love, outside of dentistry, is canoeing and camping in the Boundary Water Canoe Area Wilderness in northern Minnesota. He usually manages to spend a few long weekends there each year — recharging his batteries in the peace and quiet.

The Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education
Bill is the only dentist in Dubuque to have completed the entire Continuum at the renowned Pankey Institute. The Institute is a non-commercial organization and is representative of Bill’s beliefs in the value of learning and commitment to excellence. The mission statement of the Pankey Institute reads in part:

"To improve the health and well-being of the world's citizens by helping dentists achieve
professional excellence and fulfillment....We will do our utmost to be the best at what we do and
remain the world's most prestigious learning organization for dentists...."

Bill continues with the Pankey Institute as a member of the L. D. Pankey Alumni Association.

The American Dental Association
As a member of the ADA, Bill has served in a variety of roles at the local, district and state levels through the Dubuque County, Dubuque District, and Iowa Dental Association.

Meet Our Dental Hygienists

Our team of dental hygienists is committed to providing the highest standard of dental hygiene care for you. Their care involves not only superb clinical skills, but also the behavioral and communication skills to assist you in attaining the highest level of dental health you choose. Ongoing continuing education in consumer dental products, nutrition, and total wellness prepares Sharon and Joanie to be knowledgeable resources to help you with your oral health as it relates to your total health.

Sharon

Sharon is a graduate of the University of Hawaii and brings over 30 years of experience in dentistry to our team. She has worked in a variety of practice settings that include serving as a consultant for Head Start and working in hospital dentistry. As an active member of her professional association she has served at the local, state and district levels and was named Dental Hygienist of the Year by the state association.

I am delighted that I can play a part in that journey by providing my care, knowledge, experience, and clinical skills."

Rhonda

Rhonda grew up in Dubuque and has been part of the Kuttler Dental Team since 2002. She completed courses of study for both a registered and certified dental assistant. Then, after 8 years as one of our clinical assistants, she decided to help our clients as our Client Care Coordinator in our business office.

“The relationships I develop are what I enjoy the most. I love looking ahead to the next day to see who's coming in. There's always something to talk about and a lot of catching up to do. You are always greeted with a smile."

Alysia

As a Dubuque native, Alysia graduated from the NICC Dental Assisting program in 2003. She worked in dentistry for a few years, before returning to school to pursue a degree in Elementary Education. Realizing she missed working as an assistant, she joined our team in 2007. With her background and experience in early childhood, her gentle, caring, relaxed approach is a great match for the kids in our practice. And, her training in CEREC cad-cam restorations provides the latest dental technology for clients of all ages. In her free time, Alysia enjoys spending time with her husband, Jeremy, and dog, Charlie.

"I love the hands-on aspect of being a clinical assistant. With the variety of procedures we offer, my day is never the same as the day before! I love informing our clients on any treatment needed, and being part of their dental transformation from start to finish.

Lynette

Lynette grew up in Richland Center, Wisconsin. She completed her course of study as a Dental Assistant at Southwest Wisconsin Technical College in Fennimore. Lynette has also completed the psychology of human relations class offered at UW-Platteville. She is a Registered Dental Assistant in Iowa. Lynette has been with the Kuttler Dental Team since 2011.
